Indian railways has launched its
IRCTC next generation website. This website is an advanced platform to book
online rail tickets. This website can perform 72,00 tickets per minute. Train
reservation has become more efficient after this website. Catering to the increasing demand for train tickets in India,
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has upgraded its
website for booking additional four lakh e-tickets daily.
Earlier,
the ticketing site was capable to handle about 1.2 lakh simultaneous
connections on web servers and can book aprox 2000 tickets per minute.
"We
have improved the web site structure with high capacity servers to book more
tickets. Previously our ability was to book about 1200 tickets per minute but currently
it has been improved to 7200 tickets per minute and it will be further
increased to 10000," said a senior IRCTC official.
He
said with the constant advancement, an average booking per day has been
increased from 3.67 lakh in 2012 to 4.15 lakh now.
Ex-
Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal had announced in his Rail Budget 2013-14
that the booking capability will be improved to 7200 tickets per minute with
the expansion of next generation software for the e-ticketing site.
In
general there is a massive load on the website at 10 AM, when booking of Tatkal
tickets opens. The reservation of
ticket varies from time to time based on events and vacations. Railways have invested about Rs. 100
crore to improve the ticketing website to meet the increasing demand of
e-tickets. But a lot of
of passengers are still confused with this new interface and facing problems in
registering, login, booking, canceling rail tickets. The CRIS has introduced an all new user
interface for online bookings. This interface is quite user friendly but still
some of us need assistance to work with this new site.
We have developed this tutorial site
for new users on IRCTC website. You will find a all solutions about your train ticket
booking. We have so many Frequently asked questions and an open forum to let
people share their experience about Indian Rail Corporation Limited online
reservation system.
