IRCTC Tatkal Trick

Tatkal

A new tutorial on IRCTC Tatkal Trick. This is about how to get your bookings done on that notorious IRCTC website we all know and if you have gone through it, booking on IRCTC is really paining. So I have come up with some tip that can help you to get your ticket done faster and booking tickets on IRCTC website especially in Tatkal ticket, every second counts and this trick is fast and quick enough then others. This tutorial is divided in to two parts, the first is to get the station codes, this should be done 5 or 10 minutes before the actual booking of the ticket, suppose website opens at 10 am in the morning and you have got to have some data with you before you proceeds to that website. So for getting the station codes, go to the website www.indianrail.gov.in, this is official government website. So, on that website you will find this information tab in which you will find the nodes, which has this node view codes and it will have Station Codes, Class Codes, Quota Code and Station Names. I will just click on station codes so it will open the station code enquiry page, let’s say for example I wish to travel from Dadar to Kudal on the Konkan Railway. So I got to know the codes of Dadar as well as Kudal. So Dadar has two codes basically one is for Central and for Western so I will just search for it, okay I know that it is DR so I will just note it down. Okay my next station is Kudal so if I search for that Kudal and just hit get code, and it will generate this, KUDL because the, actually there are 3 suggestions but I know that the one I wish to travel is KUDL on Central Railway.

So this is first part and we proceed to the 2nd Part and that is to login to IRCTC website where we just hit irctc.co.in and you will be on the home page of that. Just login with your User ID and Password, my favorite player is Sachin Tendulkar so I am just demonstrating you with his name. Okay, once I login I will populate the from and to so I will enter from Dadar DR, I just remember the code and then KUDL Kudal okay now select the next date and then ticket type yes by default e-ticket and then the quota Tatkal quota and then click on find trains, so then it generates for me a list of trains that available on that route, so I know that I will travel by JanShatabdi Express so I will just see the availability, see the fair, and then click on the book. And then you will be guided to a passenger information page in which you have to populate your name and then seat preference, the sex and so on and the details of the passengers who are traveling. Just take a look at this page, what we going to do is we have Google site which has a simulation of the same page and which we will be using, this has to be done actually 5 minutes before so we go to that auto fill page and we will just Google for this, just type IRCTC auto fill so this the first search option which is visible is magic auto fill. It’s called the magic auto fill. Here you need to fill some details of the passengers similar you were doing at the website of IRCTC. So for instance, Sachin Tendulkar is traveling and then Rahul Dravid is traveling with him, Sunil Gavaskar the legend is also traveling, so once I am done with the filling information of passengers, I will click I am filling lucky and then this will generate a magic auto fill. Okay so this page is essentially a simulation where in you fill the data and you will drag this magic auto fill to your bookmarks toolbar, you need to enable it by the way if you are using Chrome, by default it is not visible. You have to go to settings and make visible it and then you have to drag this to your bookmarks toolbar and once you have done that.

When you are logging to your IRCTC then you just have to click on this magic auto fill and you will get the whole data what you just have filled in now. So once again I am logging in to IRCTC website. irctc.co.in, then I put my login ID and password and then I put the station codes and then I generate a list of trains and then I select JanShatabdi and then I directed to this page, where in we will use that auto fill to fill in the information, so I will just click in on that auto fill bookmark button and this will automatically filling the details so you have saved your time in filling those details. Actually this train has a 2S coach so there is windows and no choice options are in berth preference and if there is Sleeper Class then it works pretty much fine. So after filling that additional data and you will be directed to payment gateway that is Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking and so on just give them the money and you are done. So I hope this is all helpful to you and enjoy.

# 2 Book Train Tickets on IRCTC Quickly using Auto fill

A quick tip that may help your chances of booking a ticket on Indian Railways website especially when you trying to make a reservation under the Tatkal Scheme. Now you know that the IRCTC  website opens for reservations at 8 am in the morning and everyone just rushes to book their tickets. So you enter your source and destination, the date of travel and the system will show you the list of trains that are available on that root. You pick one of the trains and if the seats are available you hit the book button. The next screen requires you to fill in the all the passenger details and unless you are extremely fastest typist this form may takes a while to complete because it does have too many fields. If we can figure out a way to fill this passenger details form as quickly as possible, it will definitely help improve our chances to getting an online ticket and that’s where magic auto fill comes in.

The magic auto fill is basically a replica of the same passenger details form that available on the Indian Railways website, all you have to do is visit magic auto fill site; 10 to 15 minutes try to the opening of the booking reservation windows and just fill in this form. If there are any fields that are not available in the main reservation form like the food preference you can keep them here as well.Once the form is complete, just click the I’m feeling lucky button and this will generate a new Magic Auto Fill link, all you have to do is to drag this Magic Auto Fill link to your bookmarks toolbar. What we have done is we have created an offline copy of passenger details form with all the values filled in that we can use any time later when get actually making the booking on the Indian Railways website. Go the IRCTC Next generation website and all you have to do is click on this Magic Auto Fill link in the toolbar and the form is filled automatically. Thus it saves a minute or two and that could make all the difference.
